FRIDAY 22 TO SUNDAY 24 AUGUST 2014 AT DUNCOMBE PARK, HELMSLEY, NORTH YORKSHIRE

Beth McCarthy

24 Aug 2014   17:30 to 18:00
Beth McCarthy

acoustic / country /

Beth McCarthy is a York Based singer-songwriter who has been gigging with her acoustic guitar since mid 2010. Taking her influences from Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran, Nina Nesbitt, Max Milner and the lyrical stylings of Lucy Spraggan, her style has been described as acoustic pop with a slight 'country-esque twang'.

Beth is constantly growing as an artist as she continues to write songs and find her own style through performing at every opportunity; she is now reaching a wider audience after playing a variety of music venues during her two tours of England, and also Galtres Festival 2013.

She has played recognised support slots with bands such as Shed Seven and Paper Aeroplanes and has proceeded to perform not only as a solo artist, but also with other musicians to create a more 'full-band' feel to her music.

Beth has recently taken part in the third series of 'The Voice UK' and is being mentored by Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson. Despite her participation in the show, she continues to play gigs all over the country having booked a three day support slot with 'The Orchestra' - formerly known as the Electric Light Orchestra - in Scotland and Sheffield. Beth plans to book a UK tour for late 2014 and hopes to release a new album by early 2015.
"Beth's ability to tell a story through her songs, combined with her cheeky on-stage presence is something that engages the audience on a more personal level and makes her performances feel more like an experience than a show. Beth's passion for music is evident in her performance and songwriting, yet her lighthearted, bubbly attitude, both on-stage and off, makes her music easy to relate to and enjoyable to watch."
