FRIDAY 22 TO SUNDAY 24 AUGUST 2014 AT DUNCOMBE PARK, HELMSLEY, NORTH YORKSHIRE
The Bluebuds
Describing their music as 'organic' The Bluebuds started life as brothers Justin and Kirk Boulton playing their songs in a 'stripped back' fashion for around about a year picking up fans as they gigged all over the place.
Coming from the North East (Co Durham/Teeside) the brothers have immersed themselves in good music and learned how to play the instruments and styles they heard, from modern songwriters to old timey county/blues artists!!
They expanded to a full band about a year ago and have worked hard to retain that 'organic' ethos!!
The Bluebuds mash together a melting pot of styles from pre war jazz, blues and country all the way through to the contemporary stylings of today, every song has a life of it own what ever genre it sits in!!
'When I first heard The Bluebuds I was convinced I was hearing some ancient Virginian mountain band, recorded in a woodland cabin in 1931. Imagine my surprise when they turned out to be a bunch of beardy blokes from Fishburn, pulling gloriously rustic sounds out of nowhere, and capable of both rousing stomps and delicate balladeering in equal measure' - Bob Fischer BBC Tees.
