Plant a tree - back for 2011!

Following the popularity of previous years' schemes, we're again planning to plant loads of trees after the Festival. And this year it's the International Year of the Forest, so it's especially important to plant trees and you'll be seeing lots of activities around the festival site on the theme of woodland and forests.

We're keen to reduce the carbon footprint of the Festival, and also to take some small steps towards restoring some of the ancient forest from which our event takes its name. And we'd like your help.

When you buy your tickets online you'll be offered the opportunity to also make a donation of £5  - for this we'll source and plant a tree for you.

As an alternative, the Woodland Trust offers a scheme where for £15 they will plant and nurture a tree for you for its lifetime.

The trees we have are native English - oak, ash, horse chestnut, sycamore, holly etc - and we've identified a location in the local area to plant them. A public footpath runs alongside the land, so you'll be able to wander by and watch your trees grow into a beautiful wood.
