FRIDAY 22 TO SUNDAY 24 AUGUST 2014 AT DUNCOMBE PARK, HELMSLEY, NORTH YORKSHIRE

Volunteering as a steward

Much of the proceeds from Galtres Festival are donated to local charities and community groups, so volunteers' time and energy helps us to raise even more money for good causes. Stewarding work is varied but typically involves helping and directing the public, working at entry and exit points, helping at info and merchandise points etc.
As a steward you’ll have a great time working with an energetic team. In exchange for volunteering to work three six-hour shifts (usually one each day) over the weekend, you will get in for free, earn food and drink vouchers, and get paid up to £50 travel expenses.
We also lay on coach transport for stewards to help you get to and from the festival (e.g. from Hull, University of York), or can give you tickets to the coaches running between the festival and York; or, if you prefer to make your own way, we'll pay you £50 travelling expenses.

If you are thinking of working a number of festivals over the summer, including Galtres, we recommend that you register to work the festival through Green Stewards, who coordinate stewards across a number of sites. You can register with them on their website, where you will also be able to register to work other festivals. You will need to pay a deposit which will be refunded to you after the festival provided you have turned up for your shifts.
Do send a link to this page to any friends who you think might want to help out, and post it on your Facebook / other social media sites.
