We decided to put this page on the website on account of the number of people who have asked about our inebriated ox and oxman in the logo. So here's the story ...
Our first festival took place in 2005 in Crayke at the Durham Ox. This painting is on the wall in the pub and is used on the pub sign, and after a few pints one night we decided to have a play around with it.

So the graphics guys from York Multimedia had a bit of fun, giving the oxman a pint and the ox itself a few more, and came up with this as the logo for the first festival'. All the T-shirts sold out, and another version was etched onto the souvenir festival glasses.

A little further development led to this for 2006, incorporating a name change as the festival extended its scope. Note Crayke hill in the background becomes part of the Forest of Galtres.

The 2006 festival also includes a number of elements including a food marquee serving up a feast from local producers, so each part of this year's festival gets its own logo.

In 2010 we decided on a new design for our print and web-based marketing material, and York designers LazenbyBrown supplied this new take on our logo.
